Investors in Families has been established to recognise and promote the importance of family-friendly approaches, which many schools have already developed.

Aims of Investors in Families

To value and support the role that families play in the life of the child

To support families in developing their children's achievement and self-esteem;

To help families participate in raising their children's achievement and self-esteem

To promote social inclusion and a sense of well-being through positive participation in family life

Schools that receive the Investors in Families award will have demonstrated their commitment to working with families to achieve each of the five outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda and to have evidence that they are working with families to deliver the five outcomes.
