To work with childminders to provide childcare that is wrapped around the school day.
Working with the National Childminding Association, we worked with registered childminders to provide wraparound care. The childminders, as well as looking after children in a home setting, collect and drop off children at school or at after-school activities.
A growing number of childminders are becoming part of our childminding network and we see improved contact with families mediated through their childminders.
Because the childminders have direct contact with parents and carers, they bring a lot of direct experience of parents' views to discussion with school. This helps us to plan more effectively to meet family needs.
