To provide school holiday study support projects.
In partnership with the local football club and parent volunteers we developed a full daytime programme of educational and sporting activities to run through school holidays for approximately 25 hours per week. Adult ICT training for parent, mentors and the unemployed. The club made available a large area that was divided into six learning areas and space for offices including ICT equipment and interactive whiteboards.
Students from more than twenty schools were involved. Students and parents were able to access skill development training, learning through football, super-learning days, anti-racism awareness courses and attendance project.
Increase in confidence and self esteem, development of key skills towards employability. All in a protective and non-threatening environment.
