Working Together For Safety
To provide a strong link between extended school and children's centre.
We had a service level agreement between the school and the children's centre to cover use of shared spaces; e.g. the school uses the centre's community room for after school activities and its medical room; Sure Start use the school hall. The 3 - 4 year olds' playroom is linked by a corridor to the reception class to encourage sharing and working together.
This arrangement is working well, keeping the children safe and happy. It has enabled the delivery of services in a fully integrated way which is very responsive to the needs of the community we serve.
Families have been keen to be actively involved and parents / carers were consulted from the start. It has maximised opportunities for staff to work together and share resources across the Foundation Stage.
